Prof. Dr. Pietro Luigi Cavallotti awarded the International east prize

For the third time in the history of east, the International east prize has been awarded. The prize was given to Professor Pietro L. Cavallotti from Politecnico di Milano, Italy. His long and brilliant career stated in 1963 and has resulted in about 400 scientific reports covering electrochemistry and surface technology. Professor Cavallotti is recognized as an excellent teacher. He has shown international leadership by coordinating European research projects, organizing international conferences, by being president of International Union for Surface Finishing (IUSF) and east, and several other organisations.

The International east prize is a prize given for exceptional scientific and technical achievements in surface technology and for having an outstanding European impact. The prize winner is elected by the European Board of east, which consists of leading European scientists in the field of surface technology. The prize is followed by 5.000 € and an electroformed golden unicorn statuette.
